What’s On My Counter ( and what should be on yours )

One of my favorite things to read from bloggers and influencers that I follow is their morning and night routines. I have always been so intrigued by morning routines ( I did a whole series on them on the blog actually, you can read one here or search “morning routines” in the search bar ) and especially by the products that actually WORK. The beauty market is infiltrated with thousands of products, some that work and some that don’t, so reading and watching influencers I trust talk about their favorite products is something I highly value.

So that’s what this post is all about! Products that I consistently use every day and have seen major results from. Products that I have re-purchased, which honestly says a lot, especially if they have a higher price point. Honestly, I am willing to spend good money on products that work for my skin and hair because as I get older, staying youthful is key. Also as I get older, investing money in quality products as opposed to cheaper products has a lot of value to me, too. This list is tried and true and you guys need these items.

Tap the title of each product for the link to my current favorite beauty items! Happy shopping!

+ Olaplex No.3 – $28
If you’ve been following me for a little while, you know that my hair has been a JOURNEY. I have tried everything and I feel like I have finally been able to see some growth and change in my hair. I owe some of that to this product. It is an intense, thick, hair mask that nourishes and replenishes hair. Since using this product I have seen major growth, shininess, and thickness added to my hair. I have used it probably 5 times, once a week, and I should probably start upping the usage. This product came highly recommended to me through friends and influencers but also from people who use it at their professional salons, which is what really sold me on the product. They have some other products that come highly recommended too, that I will be trying soon! I will absolutely buy again and continue to update y’all on the transformation.

Everything you need to know about blowouts ⏤ Straight from an expert.

Hi! So excited you decided to stop by V&L today. How ya doin? Hope you’re well and your day includes something you love.

I am sitting here with a tallll glass of ice water with a drop of lemon essential oil in it, and I am here to chat about blowouts. We all love ’em, we all need ’em, and sometimes we can’t afford ’em, which totally sucks. Honestly a picturesque morning for me starts with blowouts at Drybar and iced lattes from Nordstrom followed by wandering through the displays gathering ideas and inspo. Sounds ideal. Blowouts make me feel like a boss babe and I wanted to get all of the details on how to get the perfect blowout at home during those weeks we can’t make it to the salon.

I sat down with hairstylist Emma Weber for a trim and a blowout and asked her allll the juicy details about blowouts and what the perfect recipe for an at-home blowout is, all while sipping a venti iced caramel macchiato ( with soy of course ) and documenting the process with pics.

Friday Product Post: Bumble and bumble Prêt-à-Powder

Good morning and happy Friday!

I am stoked to share my favorite product for this week (probably favorite product of the month actually) because it has changed my hair routine and given life to my hair.

I have become an avid YouTube watcher and one of my favorite YouTubers at the moment is Kristin Johns. Kristin is super cute, down to earth, and I feel like I can totally trust what she has to say. I also love that she uses her platform to talk about Jesus and just be real. She is married to Marcus Johns, who used to be a big vine star and is now acting! They are the cutest couple and they bring hope and truth to social media which really, really rocks. ANYWAYS. She did a video on her hair routine (linked here) and I wanted to try some of the products she mentioned because we have similar hair types. My hair always seems to be lacking volume and gets oily at my scalp really easily.

Insert Bumble and bumble prêt-à-powder. This magical powder is a dry shampoo, volume booster, and style extender ALL IN ONE. Normally I would say that beauty companies exaggerate a little bit on their descriptions but this one is right on point.

I have tried some other powder dry shampoos including the Lush Dry Shampoo and I was happy with the results, but it seemed to be a super messy process as the application at the top does not allow for much aim. While it is still a great dry shampoo, this Bumble and bumble powder has an amazing application process and allows for direct contact with your hair while acting like a dry shampoo and giving your roots a major boost. Sure, it still gets a little messy, but not nearly as ‘covered in powdered sugar’ as the Lush product does.

My friend Kelsie, who I visited in Atlanta, also used this product after I purchased it. She has a much different hair type than I do, but still lacks volume, and she loved it as well. Converting people to prêt-à-powder daily.

On the Bumble and bumble site, they mention you can also apply the powder by placing some on your brush and then running it through your hair, which sounds like an awesome idea and I am going to try that way tomorrow! Right now I simply part my hair all over my head and insert the powder near my scalp and down towards my ends. I then just brush my fingers through my hair to make sure it doesn’t leave a white residue and I am ready to go!

LIFE CHANGING, Y’ALL.

Let’s talk price. This bottle is $27 and while that may seem a bit steep, I have had my Lush dry shampoo for over a year (with the same amount of product as this B&b bottle) and am not even near halfway through the bottle. I used it every other day, if not every day and I can only imagine the same would be true for this Bumble and bumble product. I have tried SO MANY drugstore and high end products with the hope that they would give me the volume this product does and none have come close. So for me, $27 is worth the price of the results.

I just want to say that this post is not in any way sponsored!!! (But if you’re reading this, Bumble and bumble, I would love to colab 😉 ) I just truly love this product and want to share it’s magical powers.

If you try this product, reach out and let me know! I would love to hear your results.

I went to a flower shop (Every Bloomin’ Thing in Costa Mesa) this morning (see the pic at the bottom of this post) and she made me such a beautiful bouquet!!! Fresh flowers are definitely going to be added to my weekly routine. This weekend is full of yummy food + drinks with friends, more unpacking, and photo shoots! Keep up on social media ?

Have a great weekend babes!!

I’m Back, Y’all.

HI! Happy Monday and welcome back to Forge A Frenzy!

It has been two long weeks since I have last posted and wowza, life has been crazy. I took an unintentional hiatus from Forge A Frenzy over the last two weeks due to two life events: Moving from Newport Beach to Huntington Beach, and a much needed trip to Atlanta to see my dearly missed friends.

All of that being said, life is finally settling back down to normalcy. I am figuring out my new commute to work, unpacking tons of boxes, and scouring Pinterest for room inspiration ideas. And I got a pedicure. Pedicures always put life back on track.

I have two fun looks coming up on Forge A Frenzy, this one and another that will be posted shortly, but after that there are going to be some home/interior posts coming because that is where my hard earned money is going towards these next few weeks. I have slowly but surely been redoing the furnishings in my room and I have some cute DIY’s (that don’t look like DIY’s) that I am going to be tackling. The rest is a mix and match of HomeGoods finds and Target scores. I like to get the best bang for my buck and those two places have really been helping me out.

On top of that, I have tons of new places to add to my Atlanta food + drink guide that I will be summing up in a post as well as adding to my Atlanta Travel Guide page. Such exciting stuff!!!
