What’s On My Counter ( and what should be on yours )

One of my favorite things to read from bloggers and influencers that I follow is their morning and night routines. I have always been so intrigued by morning routines ( I did a whole series on them on the blog actually, you can read one here or search “morning routines” in the search bar ) and especially by the products that actually WORK. The beauty market is infiltrated with thousands of products, some that work and some that don’t, so reading and watching influencers I trust talk about their favorite products is something I highly value.

So that’s what this post is all about! Products that I consistently use every day and have seen major results from. Products that I have re-purchased, which honestly says a lot, especially if they have a higher price point. Honestly, I am willing to spend good money on products that work for my skin and hair because as I get older, staying youthful is key. Also as I get older, investing money in quality products as opposed to cheaper products has a lot of value to me, too. This list is tried and true and you guys need these items.

+ Olaplex No.3 – $28
If you’ve been following me for a little while, you know that my hair has been a JOURNEY. I have tried everything and I feel like I have finally been able to see some growth and change in my hair. I owe some of that to this product. It is an intense, thick, hair mask that nourishes and replenishes hair. Since using this product I have seen major growth, shininess, and thickness added to my hair. I have used it probably 5 times, once a week, and I should probably start upping the usage. This product came highly recommended to me through friends and influencers but also from people who use it at their professional salons, which is what really sold me on the product. They have some other products that come highly recommended too, that I will be trying soon! I will absolutely buy again and continue to update y’all on the transformation.

+ Bumble & Bumble Pret-A-Powder – $27
My holy grail item. Incredible dry shampoo. Amazing style extender. Volumizing magic. I think this is like my 6th bottle? And not because it doesn’t last, but because I have been using it for almost 4 years and keep buying it after it runs out. They last forever and also are a must-have on your counter or shelf. I reach for this starting the day after I wash my hair. You just apply the powder, rub it in, and you’re good to go. Trust me on this one, you need it! Also, tip: When I saw they had an aerosol can powder version, I was thrilled and bought it immediately. Here’s my advice: go ahead and skip it! It was not worth the price and definitely did not compare to the powder in the bottle for me and my hair.

+ Laneige Lip Mask – $20
This product has been blowing up recently and for good reason. It is a thick lip mask that looks incredible and also does its job. I wear it overnight and also out. They created a lip balm that is similar in thickness, equal in shine, and easier to apply when you are out and about as you don’t have to put your finger into the pot to apply. I linked the lip balm ( $15 ) here. The packaging is cute, it looks great on your counter, and works really well especially for the price point! If you try this, let me know your reviews! I am so interested to hear if other people love it as much as I do.

+ Drunk Elephant Beste™ No. 9 Jelly Cleanser + Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer – $32 / $68
I tried both of these out in my birthday gift choice from Sephora ( so almost a YEAR ago) and bought BOTH of the full sizes after using. I had been loyal to my Neutrogena foaming face wash for probably 4+ years and this DE face wash enticed me enough to change my ways. As I am trying to go clean and pure with as many beauty products as possible, the fact that DE is non-toxic and clean was very appealing to me. The moisturizer is also perfect. Just perfect. It isn’t too thick, it is buildable, and makes my skin feel so rejuvenated and FIRM. Like actually a small but noticeable difference in the firmness in my skin. I have been trying a few more of their products and am excited to add them to another blog post once I have used them long enough to give a good review! I will note that I totally know these products are expensive, for sure. And I am the first to avoid spending a ton of money if it isn’t worth it. But trust me, these live up to the hype and more. And the full sizes last for SO long. I actually kept a record of how long each of them lasted until I had to buy a new one and the face wash lasted me 7 months and the moisturizer lasted me 4 months. If you still aren’t sure, try their mini’s kit! It gives you a little taste at how great their products are.

+ Glamsquad Beachy Wave Spray – $24
The only beach wave spray that adds texture and shine to my hair without making it sticky/crunchy. It adds the perfect amount of texture to my hair and I totally see a difference when I don’t use it.

+ Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – $7
A go-to for me. I reach for this in the AM to refresh my face, I use it as a makeup remover, and I also use it when I am just too lazy to do my whole nighttime routine. I know that some people will cringe at that, but to me, this is a much better option than just not washing my face at all. It is not oily at ALL, leaves no residue, and is super refreshing. I have tried other cleansing waters, even pricier ones, and I continuously go back to this product when the bottle is empty.

+ Sunyata Facial Oil – $30
THIS. Clears up my skin instantly. I used to create my own facial oil, which I loved and would still do, but it is a little bit timely and buying individual oils can add up! Sunyata has almost the identical oil I was putting on my face previously, already created and mixed for me. Their oil is also organic and sourced from reliable farms, which is something that is really important to me when it comes to essential oils. I put this on my face two nights in a row and my face is actually completely different. It is clear, toned, and bright. It’s the perfect about of thick and also breathable and smells INCREDIBLE. I used to be afraid to put oils on my face but now I don’t go a day without doing it!

+ Voyage et Cie – $56
Bury me in this. No, really. This is my latest obsession and I don’t know if I will ever get over it. I have been searching for as long as I can remember for a scent that will last all day and I have found it. I am assuming it is the fact that this roll-on is an oil, so it seeps in and sinks in, or it could just be magic. I am not sure. Either way, you need it. The scent that I am obsessed with is Quartier Latin ( or Santal Epicer I think… I bought it in-store and their website is slightly confusing so I linked what I am 99% sure is the scent! ) and it is the perfect mix of California, luxury, and ease. I can’t get enough of it. I need it in candle format ASAP.

+ Isle of Paradise – $29
These tanning drops have proved to be a game-changer when it comes to self-tanning. You simply put the drops into the lotion that you are already applying on yourself at night and voila! Wake up tan. It is subtle and glowy and a really great tone. Pro tip: Make sure you scrub your hands afterwards though, no one wants Cheeto hands. As a side note, I think that once Sivan Ayla drops her Lux Unfiltered No.32 tanning lotion, it is going to be game over. I cannot WAIT to get my hands on that product for the ease, moisture, and sent.

+ Dove Invisible Deodorant – $6
I’ve tried all of the natural deodorants and NONE of them work for me. Maybe it’s user error or maybe I just sweat too much. Either way, this deodorant is my favorite. I know that I really preach and want to live by non-toxic and deodorants are truly horrible for you, but until I find one that cures all of my needs, this will be my go-to. Light, airy, amazing scent, and no transferring to clothes. If you have suggestions for me, leave a comment or shoot me at DM! ( @MadisonCrowley )

+ Chanel LE VOLUME RÉVOLUTION Mascara – $35
Currently my favorite mascara. Voluminous, dark, and doesn’t flake!! What else do you need in a non-waterproof mascara honestly? No one does it better than Chanel.

+ YSL Lipstick – $37
The creamiest, glossiest, concentrated color that I have ever put on my lips. A staple for my counter and a staple color for my always all-black ensemble for a night out.

Well, there ya have it! My current and continuous beauty favorites! Do you guys like these kinds of blog posts? I love beauty roundups personally, so that’s why I like writing them! Discovering new beauty products that I must add to my collection ( and my skin + hair ) is so fun for me. I may start doing a monthly current favorites with products that I am trying and loving at the moment. I always have a new product in the works, but this list is tried and true.

Is my list missing something crucial? Let me know in the comments or on Instagram!
