Hiiii! Welcome to Vogue and a Latte!

I am currently sipping coffee while staring at a white sand beach with my bf. Does life get any better? The exciting thing about blogging ( and making money from blogging ) is that it doesn’t even feel like work most of the time. Writing this post while on a vacay, without distractions, is SO fun. I thought I would share with you guys some of my tips and tricks for prepping for your upcoming beach trip! Whether that be spring break, a weekend getaway, or just summer approaching.

Remove all hair (wax, thread eyebrows, peach fuzz )
A MUST for me!! Make an appointment with your fave wax place near you to get prepped and primed for that bikini you will be rocking! I always get my eyebrows threaded right before I go to the beach as well. Also, pro tip for you dark haired gals like me, this little tool is amazing. It is a tiny electric razor that you can run over your top lip and around your eyebrows to remove some fuzz. I find that if I don’t do this over my top lip, my makeup can collect there and make my upper lip look darker than it is.

Drink tea + detox
Let’s be real, moving here from SoCal and not always being in shorts and a tank took a toll on my body. I needed to refocus on putting healthy things in my mouth and sweating every day. But to speed up the process, I went straight to my favorite two-day detox from Arden’s Garden. 2 gallons for $15 each and you sip on that and water for two days straight. I normally snack on almonds ( these are my fave ) and eat a small, healthy dinner filled with proteins and veggies. I also am obsessed with this tea from Pukka ( can grab it at any local grocery store, or from this link here ) because it really keeps everything moving and grooving with my digestion. Y’all know I have the most sensitive stomach on earth so this tea is a life-saver.

Get a base tan ( multiple ways: spray or self-tan )
When I was younger, heading to the tanning bed before spring break or before my first beach trip after summer seemed like the PERFECT thing to do. A couple days a week and voila, base tan! Now, the idea of laying on bulbs while my skin gets more wrinkly by the second and literally paying for skin cancer, seems like the WORST possible option that there ever was.

Spray tans are a super good option. Pop in, have a nice cool mist sprayed all over you, and you’re done! Unfortunately, before this trip I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off and didn’t have time to make an appointment so plan B was necessary. Enter in Tan Towels. I researched a bunch of different options before purchasing a self-tanning option. I asked a lot of my friends what worked for them and decided this was the best route to go. I also wanted to try Bondi Sands, heard about it through the fab blogger, Bre Sheppard, but didn’t have time to order from Australia unfortunately. ANYWAYS, tan towels rock. I mean really. Open up the little packet, take out the towel ( basically like a makeup wipe, just with more gel-like liquid on it ) and cover yourself with it! The gel is CLEAR which is amazing because it doesn’t get all over your clothes or sheets. I let it dry for like 20 minutes and then threw on some loose clothing and hoped in bed. No residue on my sheets or clothes at all! The one downside is that since the gel is clear, it makes it hard to make sure that you have covered every inch of your body. I had some streaks the first and second time I did it, even though I was really careful. But I am a self-tanning newbie so that is to be expected. All in all, this was an AMAZING first experience with self-tanning and I will for sure be buying these again.

Pedicure ( & nails bc I always love having my nails done )
Definitely a must when you are going to be wearing flip flops for a straight week and have been wearing close-toed shoes for months!! Also tried some press-on nails instead of a sit down gel mani ( lack of time, again ) and was kinda disappointed. My fave blogger gal Payton wears by them, but they just didn’t do the trick for me. Lasted about 4 days and looked slightly on the fake side. She said she paints hers and preps her nails for the press-on ones, so maybe I just skipped to many of the suggested steps! Either way, will get a much needed gel mani when I get back to Atlanta!

Beach bag
Rounded up my top-3 picks for beach bags as of right now!

Sunscreen + Chapstick
My must-have skin care products when it comes to facing the sun!

Flip flops
Current faves are these simple but cute Tory Burch pair! I have been wearing them non-stop for our beach days

And there ya have it, Vogue and a Latte’s guide to beach prep! If there is anything that you do to prep for the beach that I didn’t mention, let me know in the comments below. I’m off to lunch on the water and head to the beach to soak up some more rays. As per usual, follow along @MadisonCrowley for the day-to-day fun.
