Wish You Were Here | A Desert Look

Hiiiiii everyone.

Welcome back to FaF! It’s been a little while since my last post because life has been CRAZY. Planning trips, shooting all of the time, working, blogging, eating healthy, social life, the list goes on and on and on! But the great thing about loving what you do is that it never feels like work! Sure there are time when I would really rather not edit 60 photos or reply to 20 emails but with the end goal in mind, it makes it all worth it.

As I’m sure you know from social media (if you don’t follow me on Instagram, head on over and follow me! My insta stories are ~interesting~) that Caroline and I were in Palm Springs over the weekend, shooting looks and drinking fruity drinks by the pool. It was honestly incredible! I will recap our itinerary and details in a later post. In this post, I simply want to highlight one of my favorite looks for the weekend and give you some outfit inspiration!

Caroline and I learned a loooooootttt about blogging “work” trips over this past weekend and learned that there are a lot of things that we will be doing differently next time around! As I was shopping for this trip, it seemed like not as many pieces were jumping out at me, demanding that I buy them. My normal process is stopping by Nordstrom and seeing what new product has arrived and if anything catches my eye. If I am being real, shopping with a deadline in mind as well as an already established theme was honestly a much bigger challenge than I anticipated. Being transparent is one of the things I like reading from my own personal favorite bloggers so I think that I want to take that trait and apply it to Forge A Frenzy as well. Working for yourself in any area of business is a learning process and there are ups and downs and lots of lessons learned so why not share the trials and errors with my lovely readers!

All of that being said, this Madewell top is SO ME. I am a graphic tee hoarder. I mean I have so many graphic tees and sweatshirts and I just keep buying more! They are the PERFECT outfit. Shorts, jeans, hats, all kinds of shoes, anything really can go with a stellar graphic tee. And this one seemed so fitting for our weekend! Also it was only $35 which is happiness for me.

I paired this tee with these super comfy Free People shorts because the colors matched up so perfectly it was almost like they were made for each other! I front tuck almost everything these days and the shirt was the perfect length to meet the shorts where they fell on my hips. I love being comfy and these shorts allowed me to be comfy and also trendy!

I finished this outfit with my go-to stiff brimmed hat from Forever 21, similar linked here. and my other go-to’s, my TOMS wedge booties from Nordstrom. I added my new round framed sunglasses from Urban Outfitters (only $16!!!!) and my LILY and LAURA bracelets to this look because I wanted to keep it simple but also add a finishing touch. LILY and LAURA were kind enough to send us some theme-specific bracelets for this shoot and I am still LOVING my LILY and LAURA bracelets and I don’t think this love will ever fade.
